Downstream customers are primarily polypropylene producers and modified plastics manufacturers. Adding β-nucleating agents to polypropylene improves its performance, ultimately leading to its widespread application in the automotive, home appliance, packaging, and PPR pipe industries.Global production in 2024 was approximately 2,800 tons, with an average selling price of US$22,000 per ton.
Early polypropylene was primarily α-crystalline. While highly rigid, it was also brittle, limiting its application in high-toughness applications.
