A vision-guided robotic grasping system is a commercial robotic automation solution that converts visual perception into executable robotic manipulation. It uses 2D, 2.5D, or 3D vision sensors, AI or geometry-based perception algorithms, point-cloud processing, 6D pose estimation, grasp generation, hand-eye calibration, path planning, collision avoidance, and end-effector control to enable robots to pick, place, sort, load, unload, depalletize, palletize, or feed parts in manufacturing and logistics environments. The system may be delivered as an integrated function module by a robot OEM, a third-party 3D vision and grasp-planning software package, a robot guidance platform, or a complete robotic picking cell. The study focuses on commercial systems in which visual perception directly drives robotic grasping and placement decisions.

From the demand side, the market is expanding along two major paths: manufacturing bin picking and logistics piece picking. Manufacturing applications focus on metal parts, automotive components, machine tending, assembly feeding, electronics, batteries, home appliances, and medical devices, where accuracy, repeatability, and robustness are critical. Logistics applications focus on e-commerce fulfillment, parcel induction, depalletizing, sortation, kitting, and goods-to-robot picking, where SKU variety and throughput matter more.
